It was a historic day as the sixth Region Diaspora Flag was officially launched in Philadelphia last week. Hon. Stanley Straughter, Chairman of the African and Caribbean Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, held the ceremony at City Hall on Friday June 10th.

Ghanaian Attorney Kofie Asmah, was there to help do the official presentation of the flag on behalf of the Diaspora Africa Forum. Asmah was also being honoured by the Council of the City of Philadelphia for the work he has done in promoting Africa and connecting the diaspora in Philadelphia. He was given a citation recognizing his impact in the annual Odunde Festival which has been celebrated for 47 years.
