Exploring the Potential of Web 3.0 In Ghana

  • Post category:News

As Ghana continues to be a country that has gained the interest of investors in various industries, one of the sectors that is poised to take the country into the future is technology.  Ghana Unity DAO has recognized that Ghana has a burgeoning tech sector and is quickly moving to the forefront of innovation.  In response, a two-part panel is being held on April 27th, 2022, at the Kempinski Hotel to explore the impact and potential of blockchain technology in Africa.  Ghana Unity DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a digitally native network of entrepreneurs with a mission to foster a sense of community in the tech space in Ghana and its neighboring countries.  They are focused on funding and developing Web 3 in Ghana in three key areas: education, community and economic development.

Web 3 enthusiasts, Kwame A.A. Poku and established veterans like Senior Partner, Monument Corporate Finance, Ben Boateng, are both speakers who are key to helping build the bridge between Silicon Valley and Accra. The event will feature leaders in policy, technology and education. Deputy CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Yaw Afriyie will be delivering a keynote address.

Speakers on the panels will include Head of Youth Engagement, The Ghana Presidency, Jake Bediako, Co-Founder Float, Barima Agyei, Co-Founder Afrochella, Ken Agyapong Jr., and Co-Founder, Start-Up Discovery School, Mandy Nyarko. The panel discussions will be moderated by the CEO of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE.

These panel discussions are intended to build an accessible and inclusive digital ecosystem that would be led by Ghana’s thought leaders and stakeholders in the sector.  Founding members of Ghana Unity DAO, Del Titus Bawuah and Alhassan Shabazz, invited Zi Wang to be in attendance representing Harmony, who partnered on this important event. Harmony is committed to radical social change and authentic connection with Africa’s boldest innovators. The Ghana Unity DOA has already received $1 million USD in funding to support initiatives with the local community including a Technology Summit scheduled for June this year.  For details on how to attend the summit and support future events contact the team via email on [email protected] or visit the website at www.ghanaunitydao.org.
